Salary: Up to £12,500 per session per annum (depending on experience)

Braemar Medical is currently working with one of our valued GP Surgery clients to recruit a Salaried General Practitioner / Educational Supervisor to join their friendly, supportive and progressive team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a GP who enjoys delivering excellent patient care while playing a key role in developing the next generation of General Practitioners.

We are looking for an enthusiastic GP who is either:

  • An approved Educational Supervisor, or
  • Already enrolled on an Educational Supervisor programme, or
  • Committed to enrolling on the next available Educational Supervisor course after appointment.

This role combines clinical practice with teaching, supervision, clinical governance and quality improvement within a modern, well-supported GP surgery.

The Role

As a Salaried GP / Educational Supervisor, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred primary care while helping to support and develop GP Registrars and future General Practitioners.

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will balance clinical sessions with educational leadership, supervision and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face, telephone and online GP consultations.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Provide continuity of care for patients with complex healthcare needs.
  • Undertake routine and same-day appointments.
  • Prescribe safely in accordance with local and national guidance.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and multidisciplinary working.
  • Contribute to QOF, clinical governance and quality improvement programmes.

Educational Responsibilities

  • Act as an Educational Supervisor for GP Registrars (or work towards becoming one).
  • Support GP trainees throughout their training programme.
  • Provide educational feedback, mentorship and clinical supervision.
  • Help deliver high-quality GP training across the practice.
  • Participate in educational meetings and training initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior clinicians to continually improve the training environment.

Governance & Leadership

  • Support clinical governance and patient safety initiatives.
  • Assist with developing clinical policies, protocols and SOPs.
  • Lead or contribute to quality improvement projects.
  • Promote evidence-based clinical practice throughout the surgery.
  • Work collaboratively with management and clinical leadership teams.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Fully Qualified General Practitioner
  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
  • Included on the NHS England Performers List
  • Minimum 2 years post-CCT experience
  • Medical Defence Organisation membership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding patient-centred care
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Must be an approved Educational Supervisor, or already enrolled on an Educational Supervisor programme, or committed to enrolling on the next available Educational Supervisor course following appointment.
  • Desirable
  • Approved Educational Supervisor status
  • Previous GP training experience
  • Interest in education, leadership or clinical governance
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects
  • Specialist clinical interests
