Salaried General Practitioner
Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our supportive team for up to six sessions per week.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, holistic primary care, managing a varied clinical workload while working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
We are welcome candidates with an interest in Women's Health, although this is desirable rather than essential.
Main duties of the job
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to the practice population
- Undertake a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe safely and effectively in line with current guidelines and best practice
- Manage and monitor long-term conditions
- Review and action pathology results, clinical correspondence, and other patient-related documentation
- Participate in duty doctor rota as required
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with practice and GMC standards
- Support safeguarding responsibilities for both children and vulnerable adults
- Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and practice development initiatives
- Engage in continued professional development and appraisal processes
- Attendance and engagement in clinical meetings

Woodland Avenue Practice is a well-established, friendly and forward-thinking GP practice serving approximately 13,500 patients in Luton. We are a five-partner practice with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
As an accredited GP Training Practice, we currently support 45 GP trainees, providing an excellent learning environment with a culture of collaboration, education and continuous professional development.
We are proud to play an active role within Medics Primary Care Network (PCN), working closely with PCN practices and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative services and improve patient care.
Our experienced clinical team includes GPs, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers and Care Coordinators.

Please note we have limited parking on site but plenty of street parking.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List
- MRCGP
- Full Drivers Licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- Interest or additional experience in Women's Health
- Coils, implants or willing to learn
- Experience of teaching or supervising GP trainees or medical students
- Experience of quality improvement, audit or service development
