Job summary

The Welby Group is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive clinical team, working up to 6 sessions per week across two of our practices.

The role will be based at:

  • Mondays Swingbridge Surgery
  • Thursdays and Fridays The Welby Practice

Main duties of the job

As a Salaried GP, you will:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
  • Assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Prescribe safely and in accordance with national and local guidance.
  • Make appropriate referrals and work collaboratively with community and secondary care services.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne.
  • Participate in the practice's clinical governance, quality improvement and multidisciplinary team working.
  • Contribute to the practice on-call rota (shared once per week).
  • Support teaching, mentoring and service development where appropriate.

Our clinicians benefit from a dedicated 40-minute daily clinical discussion over coffee, providing an opportunity to discuss cases, share learning and support one another.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical Degree
  • GMC registered
  • Certificate of completion of training
  • Registered under the primary medical performers' list

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working within UK General Practice.
  • Excellent consultation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to contribute positively to a supportive team culture.

Desirable

  • Experience using SystmOne.
  • Interest in service development or quality improvement.
  • Educational or clinical supervision experience.
