Job summary

Due to the retirement of a long-standing GP, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed GP to join our friendly and supportive practice team.

You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care within a collaborative team. We are offering three sessions per week, ideally Tuesdays and Thursdays, although there may be flexibility for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve:

  • Providing compassionate, patient-centred care for patients with acute and long-term conditions.
  • Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations and supporting practice triage.
  • Making appropriate clinical decisions, referrals and prescriptions.
  • Completing clinical administration and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participating in patient triage, admin and enhanced access appointments.
  • Working collaboratively with the practice team and contributing to clinical meetings, audits and service improvement.
  • Keeping up to date with clinical guidance and best practice.

About us

Richmond Lock Surgery is a friendly, well-established GP practice on the Twickenham/Isleworth border, caring for around 7,600 patients. We are based in spacious, purpose-built premises in a lovely location next to the River Thames.

Our supportive team includes three GP Partners, three Salaried GPs, two Practice Nurses, an HCA and an in-house Pharmacist, supported by friendly Reception and Administration teams.

We are looking for a patient-focused, approachable and team-oriented GP who is committed to providing high-quality care and contributing positively to the continued development of the practice.

Job responsibilities

As a GP within our practice, you will undertake the usual duties associated with Primary Care, including:

  • Patient consultations, both face-to-face and by telephone.
  • Supporting the practice triage and appointment system.
  • Making appropriate clinical decisions and referrals.
  • Safe and appropriate prescribing.
  • Working closely with Reception and Administration colleagues.
  • Participating in practice and clinical meetings.

Person specification

GP specialist training

Essential

  • Ability to provide quality care
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical degree recognised by the GMC
  • Completion of the two-year Foundation Programme
  • Completion of GP specialist training
  • Enhanced DBS check

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of working within a GP Practice within Primary Care
