TeacherActive is currently seeking an organised, professional and approachable School Administrator to join a well-established education setting in North London, starting in September.
This is a busy and professional environment where high standards of organisation, communication and attention to detail are essential. You will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office and providing administrative support to staff, pupils and senior leaders.
As a School Administrator, you will act as a professional first point of contact for parents, visitors and external professionals. You will support with telephone and email enquiries, maintain accurate records, prepare documents and correspondence and assist with a range of general administrative duties.
You may also support with attendance, admissions, school events, data entry and communication with parents. The successful candidate will need to be confident managing several tasks at once while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
The successful School Administrator will have:
Previous administrative or office-based experience
Previous school administration experience is highly desirable
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A professional and confident telephone manner
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel
Experience using SIMS, Arbor or similar MIS systems is desirable
Experience maintaining accurate records and databases
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to prioritise workloads within a busy environment
A professional, approachable and friendly manner
The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and visitors
An understanding of confidentiality and GDPR
A strong understanding of safeguarding
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day administrative support
Act as a professional first point of contact for parents, pupils and visitors
Answer and respond to telephone calls and emails
Maintain accurate pupil and administrative records
Update databases and management information systems
Support with attendance and absence administration where required
Prepare letters, reports, documents and general correspondence
Assist with filing, scanning, photocopying and document management
Support senior leaders and staff with administrative tasks
Assist with meetings, appointments and events
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
Support visitor signing-in and safeguarding procedures
Communicate effectively with different departments
Support the smooth and efficient running of the office
Follow safeguarding, GDPR and confidentiality procedures
