SEMH and Wellbeing Support Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting children's mental health, emotional wellbeing, and educational development?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chippenham is seeking a dedicated SEMH and Wellbeing Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The Role
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Support children who may experience anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or barriers to learning
Deliver targeted small-group interventions focused on confidence, resilience, and social skills
Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes
Build strong, trusting relationships that help pupils feel understood and valued
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and external agencies to support individual learning plans
Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment across the school
What We're Looking For
A patient, resilient, and empathetic nature
Confidence supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine interest in psychology, mental health, education, or child development
Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)

Team Teach, MAPA, or CPI training
Requirements
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
