MCS Group is partnering with a leading organisation in the energy and utilities sector to recruit a SEMO General Manager to lead a critical market operations function with responsibility across the island of Ireland.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Operations and relevant governance committees, the SEMO General Manager will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership across the business, ensuring delivery of regulatory, operational and commercial objectives
- Overseeing the effective delivery of all core market functions including operations, settlements, stakeholder engagement and compliance activities
- Leading governance, risk management and regulatory compliance activities across the organisation
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators, policymakers, market participants and industry stakeholders
- Leading financial planning, resource management and capability development across the business
- Driving innovation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives

The Person
The successful SEMO General Manager will meet the following criteria:
- Significant leadership experience within the utilities sector or a regulated industry
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills
- Strong strategic thinking, decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities
- Experience managing risk, compliance and operational performance
- Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
