About the School Step by Step is a specialist independent day school supporting pupils aged 419 with an autism diagnosis across Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form settings. The school follows an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) approach and works closely with a range of specialist professionals including: Speech and Language Therapists Occupational Therapists Behaviour Specialists Communication Specialists Pupils benefit from a total communication approach incorporating: Attention Autism PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) Sign Supported Communication Talking Mats AAC Devices and Communication Technology Visual Supports and Topic Boards The Role As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with experienced staff to support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day. You will receive training and guidance to develop your understanding of autism and specialist communication strategies while helping pupils achieve their individual learning goals.
