SEN Teaching Assistant - Special Needs School Location: Aylesbury Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only Age Group: Secondary Students (11-18 years) Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are looking for caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming Special Needs School supporting secondary-aged students (11-18 years). This rewarding role involves working with students who have a range of additional needs, including: Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) Autism Physical Disabilities Complex Learning NeedsAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support both in the classroom and throughout the school day, helping students access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential. The Role Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Assist students with their learning and daily routines. Provide personal care where required. Use manual handling techniques safely (training can be provided where necessary). Build positive relationships and encourage independence. Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider school team to provide the best possible support. Requirements A caring, patient and compassionate approach. Previous experience in a care setting, early years, support work, or with individuals with additional needs is highly desirable, although not essential. An Enhanced DBS Certificate for Child Workforce registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
