SEN Teaching Assistant - Greenwich, SE18 area Location: Greenwich, SE18 area Contract: Full Time, Long term Start Date: September 2026 Pay: £100 - £117 per day, depending on experience Contract Length: September 2026 - July 2027 Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers and reach their potential? An exciting opportunity is available for a caring and resilient SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary school in Greenwich from September 2026. This role would suit someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships with pupils and understands that every child needs a different approach. You'll provide practical and emotional support to pupils who may experience additional needs, social and emotional difficulties or challenges with behaviour and engagement. The position will run for the full academic year, giving you the opportunity to develop valuable experience supporting children with a range of SEN and SEMH needs. Your Role Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs Helping children manage emotions, behaviour and social situations Encouraging pupils to engage positively with their learning Supporting individual behaviour and learning strategies Helping pupils develop independence, confidence and self-regulation Working closely with teachers and other support staff Building positive relationships based on trust, patience and consistency Contributing to a calm, safe and inclusive classroomWho Would Suit This Role? We're keen to hear from candidates who: Have previous experience supporting children, particularly within a school or educational setting Have an interest in SEN, SEMH, behaviour or pastoral support Are patient, understanding and emotionally resilient Can remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations Have a natural ability to build rapport with children Are confident working one-to-one and in small groups Can work effectively alongside teachers and other professionals Are enthusiastic about helping children overcome obstacles and succeedWhat You'll Receive £100 - £117 per day, depending on experience Full-time position from September 2026 to July 2027 Consistent work throughout the academic year Valuable experience within SEN and SEMH support Opportunities to develop your understanding of behaviour and inclusive education Support from experienced teaching and support staff Dedicated consultant support throughout your placementThis is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to do more than simply support learning.
