1:1 Support | Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) Location: Liverpool Contract: Full Time Start Date: Sept 26 Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual with Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL)? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. This role will involve providing 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills and reach their full potential. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs. Use Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) to support communication and learning. Support the pupil both inside and outside the classroom. Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil. Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other professionals. Support the pupil's emotional wellbeing and development. Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment. About You We are looking for someone who: Holds a Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) or equivalent. Has experience of working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or a strong interest in doing so. Is patient, compassionate and resilient. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils. Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
