We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Sutton Coldfield. This is a full time position starting in September 2026, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role for the successful candidate. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to pupils with a range of additional needs. Working alongside the class teacher and SEND team, you will provide one to one support, assist with small group activities, and help pupils engage positively with their learning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a genuine difference to their educational and personal development. Key Responsibilities * Support pupils with Special Educational Needs throughout the school day. * Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities. * Provide one to one and small group support based on individual learning needs. * Encourage positive behaviour, independence, confidence, and communication. * Adapt resources and classroom activities to support individual pupils. * Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development. * Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents, carers, and external professionals. * Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is caring, reliable, patient, and passionate about helping children succeed. * A degree, be in their final year of university, or have relevant experience working with children or young people. * Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential. * A patient, understanding, and resilient approach. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * The ability to build strong and positive relationships with pupils and colleagues. * A genuine passion for supporting children to develop confidence, independence, and achieve their potential.
