SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD & Emotional Regulation – Haringey Location: Haringey, North London Pay: £100–£115 per day Contract: Full-time, long-term Start Date: September 2026 Enrich Education Recruitment is working with an inclusive 1-form-entry primary school in Haringey seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with autism and emotional regulation needs. The pupil is able to access classroom learning but can become overwhelmed by challenging tasks, transitions and changes to routine. The school is looking for someone calm, confident and consistent who can recognise when support is needed while gradually encouraging greater independence. The Role You will work alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to: * Provide focused 1:1 SEN support * Help the pupil remain engaged during lessons * Break longer activities into achievable steps * Prepare the pupil for transitions and changes * Support emotional and sensory regulation * Use visual resources and clear routines * Encourage positive communication with peers * Support literacy and numeracy * Promote confidence and independence Essential Skills & Experience We're particularly interested in candidates with: * Experience supporting ASD, ADHD or SEMH * An understanding of emotional regulation * Strong behaviour-management skills * A calm and consistent approach * Confidence establishing positive boundaries * Good communication skills * The ability to commit long-term Experience using Zones of Regulation, visual timetables, sensory strategies, movement breaks and de-escalation techniques would be advantageous. The School The school is a large, welcoming 3-form-entry primary with a strong commitment to inclusion. You'll join an experienced Key Stage 2 team with multiple class teachers, Teaching Assistants and established SEN support, giving you plenty of support throughout the placement. Staff enjoy the collaborative atmosphere and supportive leadership, with SEN staff working closely alongside teaching teams. The school has strong transport connections and is accessible from Wood Green, Hornsey, Tottenham, Crouch End, Muswell Hill and surrounding areas, with Underground, rail and bus links nearby.
