Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced SENDCO to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner who is passionate about special educational needs and disabilities, inclusive practice and improving outcomes for children and young people. The role As SENDCO, you will lead and develop the school's provision for pupils with SEND, working closely with pupils, families, teachers, support staff, external professionals and the wider leadership team. You will: Lead and coordinate the school's SEND provision in line with statutory requirements and best practice. Work closely with teachers to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching and appropriate support for pupils with SEND. Oversee the identification, assessment and monitoring of pupils' additional needs. Coordinate and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes and annual reviews. Develop positive and effective relationships with parents and carers. Work collaboratively with external agencies and specialist professionals. Support and develop staff knowledge and confidence in meeting a wide range of SEND needs. Monitor the impact of SEND provision and contribute to whole-school improvement. Champion an inclusive ethos where every pupil is valued, supported and given the opportunity to achieve their potential. We are looking for someone who: Has a strong commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND. Has excellent knowledge of SEND legislation, guidance and effective practice. Is an outstanding or highly effective classroom practitioner. Has strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Can work effectively with colleagues, families and external agencies. Is reflective, proactive and able to lead positive change. Has high expectations for all pupils and a genuine belief in their potential.
