About the Role
TSR Legal is working with an established regional law firm looking to appoint an experienced Agricultural Solicitor as part of the continued development of its rural and agricultural offering.
This opportunity would suit an Agricultural or Rural Property Solicitor with at least 4 years’ PQE who enjoys working closely with farming families, landowners, rural businesses and private clients.
The successful solicitor will take responsibility for a broad range of agricultural property work and will have the opportunity to become an increasingly prominent member of the team.

The firm has an established regional presence and acts for a diverse client base across the rural economy. The agricultural practice works closely with related commercial property, private client and corporate teams, allowing lawyers to advise farming families and rural businesses across both their personal and commercial affairs.
The team offers the type of work normally associated with considerably larger commercial practices but within a more approachable regional environment. Agricultural law continues to be a specialist area with strong demand for experienced lawyers, particularly those who can combine technical property knowledge with a commercial understanding of farming and rural businesses.
The role will involve:
- Agricultural land acquisitions and disposals
- Farm and estate transactions
- Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies
- Farm Business Tenancies
- Grazing licences and occupation agreements
- Easements, rights of way and covenants
- Rural development and diversification projects
- Renewable energy and development arrangements
- Advising farming partnerships, landowners and rural businesses
- Working alongside Private Client lawyers on succession and estate planning
- Supporting junior lawyers within the department
- Developing relationships with land agents, accountants and other rural professionals
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor with ideally 4+ years’ PQE
- Have experience in Agricultural, Rural Property or specialist Commercial Property work
- Understand the commercial pressures facing farming and rural clients
- Be capable of managing transactions independently
- Have strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Enjoy developing long-standing professional and client relationships
