Job summary

Join our friendly team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in King's Lynn and enjoy the variety of work that comes from being part of our complex Audiology service. The wider NNUH & QEH team is made up of senior assistant audiologists, associate audiologists, audiologists, Clinical Scientists, hearing therapists and a newborn hearing screening team.

The department offers a complex adult rehabilitative service, tinnitus and hearing therapy services and paediatric assessment and (re)hab service (0-18 years). Domiciliary work is also undertaken.

Our department places an emphasis on quality and raising standards in audiology.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be an audiologist who is motivated to deliver a high-quality adult rehabilitation service to our patients.

The main responsibilities include:1. Autonomous practice within adult rehabilitation clinics or paediatric clinics2. Assessment of hearing loss in non-routine (complex) populations3. Fitting of hearing aids in non-routine (complex) populations4. Leading on audits and staff development

We host an STP trainee and would welcome the successful candidate to contribute to training. There may be a need to support more junior members of the team and provide advice and guidance to our assistant and associate audiologists.

There is a strong culture of auditing our work to ensure best practice, and we would like the successful candidate to be actively involved in this work.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Audiology or equivalent qualifications

Desirable

  • Registered with appropriate registration body (AHCS or HCPC).

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience as a Band 5 in Audiology is required
  • Significant post-qualification audiology experience

Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of Audiology IT systems including NOAH, hearing aid programming software and patient management systems

  • Teaching and training skills
