We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Breast Care nurse who is committed to delivering excellent patient care and takes pride in what they do. The nurse will work within the Breast cancer nursing team to improve and enhance the breast cancer patient journey. As an experienced nurse you will work alongside nursing and medical colleagues in surgery and oncology to facilitate the best experience and care for individuals with breast cancer. A background in breast cancer is essential and surgical and oncology experience would be advantageous to the applicant. Excellent communication skills with an ability to prioritise workload, whilst working as part of a team are also essential.Main duties of the job
***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY*** The Senior Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will deliver an expert, specialist service to patients diagnosed with breast cancer and will be a core member of the Multidisciplinary team providing direct and indirect support and advice to breast cancer patients and their carers working as a lead key member of the established CNS team. The CNS will promote excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, consultancy, acting as a resource and commitment to nursing research. The post will involve deputizing for the Lead Breast Cancer CNS to support running the Nursing service and attending meetings when required.About us

Essential
- Registered Nurse (NMC)
- Post registration Breast Cancer or oncology qualification
- Relevant post qualification study at masters level or equivalent knowledge
- Recognised three-day advanced communication skills training course or undertake within 2 years
Desirable
- Recognised teaching qualification
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential
- In-depth specialist knowledge of breast cancer, including Surgical, oncological and reconstruction
- Developing and leading audit in clinical practice
- Knowledge of psychosocial, survivorship, and metastatic breast cancer
- Competent in undertaking full clinical assessment (or willing to work towards)
- Analytical and judgemental skills requiring critical analysis
- Evidence of good time management of self and others
- Team management experience
Experience
Essential
- At least three years post-registration experience in oncology and breast care
- Experience in supporting patients with complex physical and psychosocial needs
- Extensive experience of disease management for Breast Cancer
