As a Senior Building Surveyor, take ownership of a broad mix of project and professional building surveying work within an established but growing team in South West Essex, with direct access to senior colleagues and a clear focus on long-term development. The successful Senior Building Surveyor will join an independent property and construction consultancy that has grown organically for more than 60 years and works across 13 construction sectors, offering the scale and project exposure of a larger consultancy while retaining a partnership-led structure. The Senior Building Surveyor Role The Senior Building Surveyor will deliver a varied workload across both professional and project services, working closely with Senior Associates and Partners while managing instructions from survey and initial advice through to completion. The position offers exposure to defect analysis, dilapidations, building surveys, PPM, technical due diligence and refurbishment projects, alongside Contract Administration and Employer's Agent responsibilities. The Senior Building Surveyor will also have the opportunity to develop client relationships, support new business and help mentor more junior members of the team. Duties of the Senior Building Surveyor to include: Act as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent Undertake building surveys, PPM surveys and technical due diligence Diagnose building defects and prepare technical reports Manage dilapidations instructions Prepare specifications for maintenance, refurbishment and minor new-build works Monitor construction works for quality and progress Provide site supervision where required Develop client relationships and repeat business Mentor and support junior surveyorsThe Person? The successful Senior Building Surveyor will be technically capable, commercially aware and confident managing clients, projects and competing priorities with limited supervision.
