Senior Buyer / Procurement Manager Construction & Refurbishment

P J Harte, a 50-year-established family-run Building Refurbishment Contractor is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their head office in Hither Green London SE13, to manage and process the procurement of construction based materials, hired in plant and services for the company. Managing the buying department including a buyer and part time yard assistant. Logistical planning of deliveries and services to accommodate the site management teams Identifying and negotiating cost-reduction opportunities within our supply chain. Source new suppliers and maintain our existing suppliers and sub contractors data base. Working closely with our other buyer(s) to manage and process the day-to-day order process. Arranging reports and information from suppliers to assist in carbon and waste reporting. We are looking for a Buyer who: Has experience in procurement of site based materials, plant and services. Has a strong background in construction with a good knowledge of refurbishment based materials and trades. Has experience with logistical planning and just in time deliveries. Has a keen commercial business sense Has good computer skills and experience with excel and business management software.
