Senior Design Engineer

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to work with Murphy Applied Engineering in Stone Cross, Warrington. The engineering teams represent a multi-disciplined range of skills, adding value across all sectors and pushing the boundaries of digital construction, engineering innovation and design to deliver intelligent, sustainable and economical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Represent the MAE team in collaborative project team meetings.
• Report to the Senior/Principal Design Engineer or Senior Engineering Manager.
• Carry out civil and structural designs.
• Undertake site visits when appropriate.
• Collate feedback on solutions and contribute to lessons learned meetings.
• Prepare fully integrated permanent works proposals/solutions to meet the company’s bid and project delivery stage requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and graduates within MAE.

Qualifications

• HND, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proficient in concrete and steelwork design using both software and hand calculations, adhering to relevant design standards and Eurocodes.
• Capability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills with a desire to develop relationships across the company.
• Open‑minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges, considering all project perspectives.
• Willingness to visit the company’s sites and offices.
• Working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE.
