Senior Engineering Design Manager

Job Title: Senior Engineering Design Manager Job Type: Permanent Location: Bedford Site Location with some London Office travel (Mix of Office & Site based) Salary: c£85,000-£100,000 basic salary (DOE), plus a comprehensive package including car or allowance, healthcare, performance bonus, pension, and more. Company & Project: An award-winning Tier 1 Main Contractor with a busy pipeline of work across the region are looking for a Senior Civil and Structural professional to join the business in a unique senior level position working on a new c£300m mixed-use development project in Bedfordshire with the programme of work spanning c4years in duration. The project has a c12-month pre-construction phase and features highly complex civil and structural elements, including extensive substructure works. The successful candidate will be involved in managing the design process from early feasibility and planning stages through to on-site coordination and delivery. This is a unique opportunity to join a truly flagship major project at the early stages. Oversee technical compliance and design management across all civil and structural packages, including but not limited to: * Foundations, Columns & Piers, Load-Bearing Walls, Site Earthworks, Stormwater Infrastructure, Wet Utilities Connections, Dry Utilities Infrastructure Pavements & Hardscaping, Perimeter Infrastructure. Focusing primarily on early feasibility and procurement stages, while also monitoring on-site design coordination and managing the performance of external consultants. Acting as the primary liaison between the design team, client, and on-site delivery team. * Driving an efficient design process aligned with project timelines and commercial targets. * Supporting innovation in design and construction methodologies. * Previous Civil or Structural engineering design management experience is essential for this position. It would be highly advantageous for a candidates to have a background working for a multi-disciplinary consultancy, a specialist civil/structural business, or a main contractor.
