Senior Financial Accountant

I'm partnered with a PE backed business to add a Senior Financial Accountant into their team, following continued investment and growth.  This is a genuine number two role to the Finance Director, ideal for someone who wants real ownership rather than being one of many in a large finance function. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be the hands on engine room of the finance function, owning month end close, management accounts and the balance sheet. You will also play a key role in supporting strategic planning, driving cash flow performance and business partnering with senior stakeholders across the business. Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and all journal postings including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and stock
• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) with full supporting schedules for board reporting
• Maintain the fixed asset register and complete all balance sheet reconciliations
• Develop and improve management information packs and KPI dashboards
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Work closely with procurement and operations to monitor production costs and stock variances
• Manage VAT returns, statutory year end files and act as day to day contact for external accountants and auditors
• Act as technical escalation point for the AR and AP team, maintaining overall ledger integrity
