A growing specialist consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Cardiff team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to lead projects, take responsibility for technical delivery and support the development of junior engineers.
The Role
You will work across a varied portfolio of geotechnical projects, with responsibilities including:
Managing and delivering geotechnical projects from investigation through to design
Planning, specifying and supervising ground investigations
Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation data
Developing ground models and producing factual and interpretative reports
Undertaking geotechnical design and calculations
Foundation and retaining wall design
Slope stability and earthworks assessments
Supporting remediation and ground improvement schemes
Preparing technical reports and specifications
Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
Managing project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline
Several years' experience within a geotechnical consultancy or engineering environment
Strong experience across ground investigation and geotechnical design
Good understanding of UK ground conditions and geotechnical standards
Experience producing technical reports and undertaking geotechnical calculations
Strong communication and client-facing skills
The ability to manage projects and work independently
A full UK driving licenceChartered status, or a clear route towards chartership, would be advantageous.
