Senior Hydraulic Modeller – Edinburgh / Glasgow

We are seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join our Water Team in Edinburgh and Glasgow. This role supports the delivery of top‑quality projects for key clients, provides technical leadership for modelling, hydrology and flooding projects, mentors junior team members, and ensures rigorous quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the technical approach for modelling, hydrology and flooding projects.
• Deliver technically challenging projects for key clients.
• Support the team by fulfilling a thorough quality assurance process.
• Provide clients with technical input to support informed decision‑making.
• Mentor junior team members, helping them progress towards chartered status.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, GIS, Geography or a related subject.
• Chartered member or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEM.
• Experience in hydraulic modelling, GIS or data analysis, particularly with ArcGIS.
• Detailed understanding of hydrology in the UK and worldwide.
• Experience in fluvial, pluvial and integrated hydraulic modelling, especially with Innovyze ICM or Floodmodeller/Tuflow.
• Experience leading hydrology and hydraulic modelling projects.
• Proven experience in water consultancy.

Location: Edinburgh/Glasgow – hybrid working model available.
