  • Senior ICT Infrastructure Analyst – Northern Ireland Assembly

    Location: Stormont Buildings, East Belfast

    Pay Rate: £19.80 per hour (weekly pay)

    Join a high-performing ICT team supporting Assembly Members, Secretariat staff, and constituency offices across Northern Ireland.

    We're looking for an experienced Senior ICT Infrastructure Analyst to help deliver a secure, reliable, and modern IT environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience across Microsoft infrastructure, Azure cloud services, networking, and cyber security.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange environments.
  • Support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Defender, and Sentinel.
  • Administer network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and remote access solutions.
  • Monitor alerts, support cyber security operations, and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and drive continuous service improvement.
  • What We're Looking For

    You'll have either:

  • An HND (or above) in Computing/ICT and at least 1 year's infrastructure or service desk experience,
  • OR
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Infrastructure Support or Service Desk environment.
  • Possess at least a HND in computing or other discipline relevant to
  • Information & Communications Technology, AND

    Have at least 1 years’ experience working in a challenging Infrastructure Support/Service Desk environment;

    NB: Only those courses with a computing content of 50% or more will be considered, and applicants must give full details on the application form of how the content of the course meets this requirement.

    OR Have at least 3 years’ experience working in a challenging Infrastructure Support/Service Desk environment.

    NB: Experience at (a) or (b) can include time spent as part of a work placement.

  • Applicants will be expected to demonstrate on their application form and at interview at least one year’s experience in one or more of the following
  • skills. Applicants should explain how and to what extent they have applied these skills:
  • Skill 1 – Managing MS Windows Server 2012 (or later) operating systems running in a Windows Hyper-V 2019 environment, and managing MS Exchange 2016 (or later) on premise email and cloud based MS Office365 email systems and the MS Azure environment. Experience in MS Defender and Sentinel.
  • Skill 2 – Support and administration of a TCP/IP based network including support of 2 or more of the following:
    • remote access equipment
    • firewalls
    • switches
    • routers
  • Applicants will also be expected to provide evidence of, in both their application form and at interview, the following qualities and skills:
  • the ability to analyse business requirements and produce logical solutions which satisfy customer needs and proactively seek opportunities for improvement in work processes and service delivery;
  • good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to explain computer concepts to customers in non-technical terms;
  • the ability to plan and organise a heavy, diverse and unpredictable workload, and deliver high quality work to ICT standards using best practice methods;
  • the ability to work as part of a team, managing and influencing people and resources to meet agreed plans and objectives;
  • Technical Experience

    Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Windows Server and Hyper-V
  • Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Exchange, Active Directory
  • Defender and Sentinel
  • TCP/IP networks, firewalls, switches, routers, and remote access technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Team-focused with strong stakeholder engagement skills
