Senior Inquest Solicitor

also having the opportunity to become involved in a broader range of advisory and regulatory matters. The variety of work on offer provides an excellent platform for career development, increasing responsibility and progression. The role will primarily focus on managing a caseload of inquest files for our various NHS clients, care homes and other organisations, and possibly some of the broader healthcare advisory work. The role is mainly based in London but some travel nationally may be required. With our diverse offering, there may be both the scope and need for our lawyers to be involved in work for clients outside of their core caseload.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Manage a case load of files
• Attend Inquest hearings at court, including travel.
• Advocacy at pre-inquest review hearings and inquests
• Meetings with clients and witnesses in preparation for court hearings.

About You

You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. We also require you to have/be:

• Qualified solicitor 4-10yr PQE
• Advocacy experience
• A willingness to develop advocacy skills

• Regulatory defence experience
• Inquest advocacy experience

The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

• Healthcare experience is desirable
• Inquest experience is desirable
• Regulatory defence experience is desirable
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Excellent collaborative and team working skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent IT skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and targets
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
