Senior Internal Communications Officer

Senior Internal Communications Officer Harrow £250.00 per day PAYE + 28 days holiday (£65,000.00 per annum) Ongoing contract Hybrid Location: HA3 Role Reporting into the Head of Communications, you will be a key player in the Council’s Communications function Develop, implement and evaluate integrated communications strategies and solutions to promote and support Harrow’s services, policies and objectives, manage reputation, change behaviour and promote resident engagement. Uphold and promote the reputation of Harrow Council in traditional and digital media Advise senior officers, members, colleagues and external partners on a range of reputational and communications issues Work with senior officers and senior councillors, including the Leader and Portfolio Holders on public affairs and lobbying campaigns Contribute to the communications teams’ income generation targets Answer media enquiries in a timely fashion and effectively use the media to promote Council services, policies and objectives Play a key role in the production of high-quality promotional materials and Harrow’s main communications channels (internal and external) including the Harrow People magazine, MyHarrow enewsletter, social digital media, the website, intranet, yammer, and staff newsletter. Identify positive stories about the work of the council and its staff, through effective relationships across the Council and Members. Support/lead on the delivery of consultations corporately Act as the Council’s lead liaison with stakeholders’ communications teams Support the delivery of internal communications and staff engagement, reviewing staff feedback to assess the effectiveness of staff communications.
