About the Role

We're working with a leading global consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a growing payments technology team delivering large-scale transformation programmes across the financial services sector.

This is an opportunity to work on business-critical payment platforms, helping major organisations modernise their technology landscape through cloud-native engineering, modern architecture and complex payment processing solutions.

What You'll Be Doing Developing and enhancing large-scale payment processing solutions.
Building cloud-native applications using modern Java technologies and microservices architectures.
Working closely with architects, engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Supporting the design and implementation of scalable, resilient payment systems.
Contributing to technical decision-making and engineering best practices.
Working within Agile delivery environments across complex transformation initiatives.
Collaborating with client teams to solve challenging technical problems.
What We're Looking For Strong commercial experience with Java development.
Experience with Spring Boot and microservices-based architectures.
Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies.
Experience working with Apache Kafka and event-driven systems.
Understanding of payment processing and ISO 20022 standards.
Experience working within complex financial services environments.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
