A specialist advisory business is growing its Asset Management practice and looking for a Senior Analyst / Project Lead to work directly alongside one of its senior leaders, acting as the engine room behind live client engagements with global Asset & Wealth Managers.
This isn't a generic "support" role. You'll be the right hand to a senior leader who is winning and running high-profile benchmarking and strategy work — which means real ownership of delivery, direct exposure to client stakeholders, and a front-row seat to how a growing practice gets built.
Why this could be your next move
If you're currently at a Big 4 firm, a specialist like Alpha FMC, or working inside an Asset Manager's strategy/operating-model function, you may recognise these frustrations:
- You do the analytical heavy lifting, but someone more senior takes the client credit.
- You're one of many on a large team, with limited visibility of the bigger picture.
- You want more client-facing exposure and commercial awareness, not just deliverables.
- Career progression feels slow and hierarchical, rather than earned through impact.
This role fixes that. You'll work closely with one senior leader (not a layered team structure), see how deals are won, and directly influence the quality and speed of delivery for high-profile clients.
What you'll do
- Act as the delivery engine on Asset Management client engagements — benchmarking, market sizing, operating model, and fee/pricing analysis.
- Own the data: building, cleaning, analysing and interpreting datasets that underpin client recommendations.
- Work directly with clients to gather information, test hypotheses, and present findings — this is not a back-office analyst role.
- Support the shaping of new proposals and pitches, bringing a commercial eye and a nose for spotting opportunities as they emerge in client conversations.
- Partner closely with a senior leader as their go-to person for getting things done, right across the project lifecycle.
What you bring
- Genuine Asset Management experience is essential — either from a consulting background (Big 4, Alpha FMC or similar specialist firms) working with AM clients, or from an in-house strategy, operating model, or product/solutions team at an Asset or Wealth Manager.
- Strong technical/data skills: comfortable building and interrogating models, structuring data, and translating numbers into a clear narrative.
- Confidence operating with clients directly — this isn't a role for someone who only works behind the scenes.
- A commercial instinct: you notice opportunities and naturally think about what else a client might need, even without a BD target attached to your role.
- A self-starter mentality — you won't be trained on Asset Management fundamentals, so you need to already speak the language of the industry.
Why join a smaller, specialist consulting business?
- More exposure. Direct access to senior leadership and clients from day one, not buried in a large project team.
- More impact. Your data work directly shapes the advice given to major Asset Managers.
- More trajectory. As the practice scales, so does your opportunity to grow with it.
- Real ownership, without the bureaucracy of a larger firm.
Package
- Base salary: £80,000–£90,000
- Bonus: performance-linked
- Location: London (hybrid)
