Lead / Senior Designer – Glazing & Curtain Walling Location: Erith, London Salary: £56,000 – £63,000 Working Pattern: 4 days per week in the office Type: Permanent About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Designer to join their design team based in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced glazing or curtain walling designer who is looking to take the next step in their career, with a clear pathway into design management. You will take a leading role in the design and technical delivery of glazing and aluminium packages, working closely with project teams, clients, architects, suppliers and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and technical delivery of glazing packages Produce detailed drawings and technical design information Work with aluminium systems including Aluprof and Schüco Review architectural drawings, specifications and project requirements Coordinate designs with project, commercial and site teams Liaise with clients, architects, suppliers and subcontractors Identify and resolve technical design issues Support and mentor more junior members of the design team Ensure designs meet project, technical and regulatory requirements Assist with design development from concept through to construction Take increasing responsibility for design coordination and team leadership Requirements Strong experience as a Senior or Lead Designer within glazing, curtain walling or aluminium façades Strong knowledge of glazing and aluminium systems Experience working with Aluprof and/or Schüco Excellent understanding of technical drawings and construction details Strong AutoCAD and/or relevant design software experience Ability to coordinate multiple design packages and deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience supporting or mentoring junior designers Ambition to progress into a Design Manager / management position Package & Benefits £56,000 – £63,000 salary 4 days per week in the Erith office Clear pathway into Design Management Opportunity to take on increased leadership responsibility Career development and progression opportunities Varied glazing and façade projects Supportive and collaborative working environment
