Senior Employment Counsel circa. 5-10PQE

An award-winning and rapidly growing digital financial services business is seeking aSenior Employment Counsel to join its established legal team. This is a high-profile role offering significant exposure across the organisation, working directly with senior stakeholders and reporting into the Head of Employment Legal.

The Opportunity

As a trusted adviser to the People function and wider business, you will provide strategic and commercial employment law support across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters. You will also play a key role in supporting international expansion projects and managing an employment lawyer within the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on all areas of employment law throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals and settlement agreements.
  • Supporting the People team and wider business on employment-related regulatory matters, including conduct and senior management frameworks within a regulated environment.
  • Advising on executive employment arrangements and senior hires.
  • Providing employment law support on corporate transactions and organisational change projects, including TUPE matters.
  • Partnering with reward and remuneration teams on compensation structures, deferred remuneration, malus and clawback provisions, and remuneration policies.
  • Managing employment aspects of international projects, working closely with external counsel where required.
  • Delivering training and guidance to HR and business stakeholders.
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects and helping drive key business initiatives.
  • Supporting regulatory enquiries and employment-related investigations.

About You

The successful candidate will bring

  • Approximately 5-10 years' PQE gained in private practice and/or in-house.
  • Strong technical expertise across a broad range of employment law matters.
  • Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated sector.
  • Knowledge of employment-related regulatory issues, including areas such as senior management accountability regimes, conduct requirements, remuneration regulation and regulatory enquiries.
