Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Locally Employed Doctor to join the EMERGE team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, providing high quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and young people with a range of mental health difficulties.
The post offers a varied clinical role with opportunities to develop specialist skills, contribute to service development and work closely with colleagues across health, education and social care. You will receive regular consultant supervision and be supported to develop your clinical and professional interests within a friendly and collaborative service.
Main duties of the job
You will provide high quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and young people referred to CAMHS, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role includes undertaking new assessments, managing follow up clinics, supporting medication management where appropriate and contributing to multidisciplinary formulation and care planning.
You will work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists and partner agencies to deliver safe, effective and person centred care. There will be opportunities to contribute to service development, quality improvement, teaching and supervision, with regular consultant supervision and support for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
Essential
- Holds acceptable primary medical qualification
- At least 3 years of experience working at CT level in Psychiatry
Desirable
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- Section 12 Approval under Mental Health Act 183, or be eligible for approval.
- Experience in the use of The Mental Health Act (1983), as amended
