Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure Project Location: BirminghamSalary: 60,000 - 80,000 + Car Allowance/Company Car + Comprehensive Benefits PackageA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's leading main contractors, delivering a critical package of works on a major infrastructure project.Based in Birmingham, you will play a key commercial role in the delivery of a series of high-value headhouse structures and the associated MEP systems that will form part of the projects critical operational infrastructure. These complex buildings will house essential systems including ventilation, fire suppression, telecommunications, power and other key equipment to ensure the safe operation of the site once it becomes fully operational.This role offers the chance to work on one of the UK's most prestigious infrastructure programmes while managing significant subcontract packages and supporting the commercial success of a major project.The Role Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading the commercial management of key work packages, providing commercial support to project delivery teams and ensuring robust cost control throughout the project lifecycle.Key responsibilities will include:Managing the commercial delivery of major subcontract packagesLeading procurement activities and subcontract negotiationsProducing accurate cost reports, forecasts and CVRsManaging change control, compensation events and variationsMonitoring project risks and opportunitiesPreparing, submitting and agreeing interim valuationsManaging subcontractor accounts through to final account settlementProviding commercial leadership and support to project teamsMentoring and supporting junior commercial staff where requiredBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholdersAbout You We are keen to speak with Senior MEP Quantity Surveyors who have experience working for main contractors on major construction or infrastructure projects.Experience delivering industrial buildings, logistics hubs, distribution centres, utility facilities, plant buildings or other technically complex structures would be highly advantageous.You will ideally possess:Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environmentStrong commercial and NEC contractual knowledgeExperience managing significant subcontract packages and project costsExcellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsAbility to lead commercial activities on complex projectsRelevant construction-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)What's On Offer?Salary of 60,000 - 70,000Company car or car allowanceAttractive pension schemePrivate healthcare25 days holiday plus bank holidays + option to purchase an extra 10 days per yearExcellent training and career development opportunitiesClear pathway towards Commercial Manager levelOpportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure projects This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role on a nationally significant project while developing their career with a market-leading contractor.
