Senior Occupational Therapist
Job summary
Working with the Intermediate Care team, you'll provide specialist occupational therapy support that helps people remain independent, avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and return home safely following a hospital stay. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary service that supports people in their own homes and community settings. This role offers the opportunity to use your specialist clinical skills while working closely with patients, families and colleagues across health and social care. You'll also help shape service development and support the growth of others within the team.Main duties of the job
What you'll do: o Assess, plan and deliver specialist occupational therapy interventions for a varied caseload o Support people to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maintain independence o Work collaboratively with health, social care and community partners to coordinate care o Provide guidance, supervision and support to colleagues and learners o Contribute to service improvement, audit activities and evidence-based practice What we're looking for: o Current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration and a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification o Experience managing a specialist caseload and delivering person-centered care o Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and communication skills o Experience working collaboratively with a range of professionals and services o A commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and inclusive practice We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, and we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone is treated with fairness, dignity and respect.About us

Qualifications
Essential
- Current HCPC professional registration
- Degree / diploma on Physiotherapy or Occupational therapy
- Post Graduate Diploma in relevant specialist area or Professional qualification to Degree level supplemented by specialist accredited training and experience in specialist field(s) equivalent to post graduate diploma level.
Knowledge
Essential
- Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to clinical and service area
- Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
- Specialist understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area.
- Evidence of undertaking audits/surveys
- Basic IT skills
Desirable
- Member of specialist interest group/network, locally or regionally
- Develop to advanced/expert understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area.
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
- Experience of multi-agency/professional working
- Experience of case load management within specialist service area
- Evidence of promoting/supporting active patient/relative involvement/participation
