Senior Pharmacist Endocrinology
Job summary
Would you like the opportunity to work as an integral member of our Endocrinology multidisciplinary team to provide a high level of clinical pharmacy care and expertise for patients treated for a variety of complex medical endocrine conditions?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team to work within the endocrinology multidisciplinary team at Musgrove Park Hospital.

Main duties of the job
As a specialist pharmacist working as an integral member of the endocrinology multidisciplinary team, you'll implement and deliver high quality clinical pharmacy services for patients in Somerset. You will provide a high level of clinical pharmacy care and expertise for endocrine patients treated for a variety of complex medical conditions.
You'll develop strong links between the pharmacy service and the endocrinology service, extending the boundaries of professional pharmacy practice, including direct patient monitoring and prescribing of treatments including high-cost agents as agreed.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Masters degree or equivalent in Pharmacy
- Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy
- Registered independent prescriber
Desirable
- Postgraduate training in Endocrinology
- Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable hospital pharmacy experience delivering clinical pharmacy practice at an advanced level.
- Demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience of general medicine, general surgery (including non-specialist service provision to acute and emergency patients)
- Experience in clinical training and/or mentoring of pharmacy staff
Desirable
- Clinical experience in Endocrinology with knowledge of common conditions encountered and of safe and appropriate drug treatments
- Experience in medicines management of patients with complex endocrine illness
- Experience of staff appraisal and objective setting
