Senior Planning Officer - Development Management Location: East Midlands Rate: £50-£55 per hour, DOE Contract Length: 6 months Job Reference: 68737 Carrington West are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to join a local authority in the East Midlands area on an initial 6-month contract. This role sits within the Development Management team and will involve managing a varied caseload of planning applications, with the complexity of applications dependent on experience. The successful candidate will be expected to handle applications efficiently from submission through to determination, working closely with applicants, agents, elected members, internal departments and external stakeholders. The authority is looking for someone with strong Development Management experience who can quickly pick up a caseload and contribute effectively within a busy planning service. Key Responsibilities ·Manage a varied caseload of planning applications from validation through to determination ·Assess proposals against relevant local and national planning policy and legislation ·Prepare clear and robust delegated and committee reports ·Provide professional planning advice to internal and external stakeholders ·Negotiate with applicants, agents and consultees to achieve appropriate planning outcomes ·Undertake site visits where required ·Present applications at Planning Committee meetings where necessary ·Support and mentor junior members of the team where appropriate ·Ensure applications are progressed in line with statutory timescales and performance targets Please call Ryan at Carrington West on (phone number removed) for more information, to apply, or to discuss your situation
