Role Overview
On behalf of our client, a leading global capital markets institution, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / PMO to support a high-profile, enterprise-wide regulatory transformation program.
In this role, you will represent the Markets organization to ensure execution discipline, track progress against key regulatory commitments, and embed rigorous PMO governance across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Governance & Reporting: Draft concise, audience-tailored progress reports for project working groups, steering committees, and executive leadership.
- Quality Assurance & Challenge: Perform proactive "check and challenge" reviews on activity reports, deliverables, and progress updates generated by partner functions.
- PMO Best Practices: Implement and enforce robust PMO methodologies, ensuring master schedules, risk/issue logs (RAID), and dependency maps are actively managed and fit for purpose.
- Business Execution: Serve as an active representative of the Markets business to drive project deliverables and ensure alignment with core organizational goals.
- Business Line Engagement: Facilitate direct working sessions with Markets product desks to translate regulatory requirements into actionable business workflows.
- Issue Resolution & Risk Mitigation: Apply deep domain experience to spot emerging issues and bottlenecks early. Clearly articulate challenges, convene the right cross-functional partners, and manage issues through to verified resolution and closure.
- Structured Delivery Frameworks: Guide and train project teams on decomposing complex, multi-variable initiatives into clear, measurable tasks and sub-tasks with defined accountability.
Key Skills Required
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a track record of presenting complex topics clearly to senior leaders.
- Detail-Oriented & Portfolio View: Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to alternate between deep-dive content analysis and high-level portfolio oversight.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills within matrixed global organizations, operating with a proactive, "no surprises" escalation mindset.
- Delivery Discipline: Proven capability to drive execution issue-by-issue and consistently meet strict internal and external milestones.
- Dependency Management: Hands-on experience coordinating across non-Markets control and support functions (e.g., Compliance, Operational Risk, Technology, Internal Audit).
- Problem Solving: Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills to resolve complex operational and structural challenges.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project (or equivalent enterprise scheduling tools).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience delivering large-scale regulatory remediation or consent decree initiatives within major financial institutions.
- Solid foundational Global Markets knowledge, including an understanding of risk and controls, trade lifecycles, and institutional asset classes.
