Our client, a leading construction and infrastructure consultancy, is seeking ambitious and motivated Quantity Surveyors, Commercial/Cost Management Professionals and Cost Verification Consultants to support the delivery of major rail infrastructure programmes across the UK.
Opportunities are available at all levels, from recently qualified professionals through to Associate and Associate Director level.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with experience across the rail sector, with station projects, station enhancement programmes, major redevelopment schemes, accessibility improvements and operational railway environments being especially desirable.
These opportunities span both:
- Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management disciplines, supporting the commercial delivery of major rail and station projects.
- Cost Verification, Cost Assurance and Cost Audit functions, providing independent review and validation of project costs, contractor submissions and commercial processes.
Candidate Profile
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management
- Pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying services.
- Cost planning, estimating and budgeting.
- Procurement support and tender evaluation.
- Commercial management of NEC4 contracts.
- Change control and compensation event management.
- Commercial reporting, forecasting and risk management.
- Cost Verification & Cost Assurance
- Cost verification, cost assurance or commercial audit activities.
- Review and validation of contractor applications and cost submissions.
- Assessment of variations, compensation events and project expenditure.
- Commercial governance and assurance reviews.
- Independent cost analysis and project controls reviews.
- Production of audit reports, findings and recommendations.
Essential Experience
- Experience working on UK rail, transportation or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience within a client, consultancy, contractor or assurance environment.
- Knowledge and practical application of NEC4 contracts.
- Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent report writing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work within complex, fast-paced project environments.
- Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering station, depot or operational railway projects.
- Experience of station enhancement, refurbishment, redevelopment or accessibility schemes.
- Experience within cost verification, cost audit, cost assurance or project controls functions.
- Membership of a recognised professional institution (RICS, ICE, CIOB or equivalent), or working towards chartership.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance where required.
