Senior Quantity Surveyor

Cambridge / Flexible Working

£55,000 – £70,000 + Package + 10% New Business Bonus

Please double check you have the right level of experience and qualifications by reading the full overview of this opportunity below.

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing, independent Chartered Surveying consultancy with an established reputation across the care, retirement living, residential and healthcare sectors.

The business has ambitious growth plans, a strong pipeline of secured projects and works with a range of leading care operators, developers and organisations across the UK.

This role would suit a Senior QS who enjoys taking ownership of projects and client relationships while working within a smaller, entrepreneurial consultancy where there is genuine opportunity to influence the future growth of the business.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the commercial and cost management delivery of projects from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.

Projects will predominantly sit within the care home, retirement living and wider residential/multi-bed sectors, including both new-build and refurbishment schemes.

You will work directly with clients, contractors and project teams, providing commercially focused advice throughout the development lifecycle.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Full pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services
  • Feasibility studies, estimating and cost planning
  • Procurement and tender management
  • Contract administration and commercial reporting
  • Valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Working closely with developers, operators and project teams
  • Managing multiple projects and client relationships
  • Supporting junior members of the team where required
  • Identifying opportunities for repeat and new business

Ideally, you will have:

  • Consultancy / PQS experience
  • Experience within care homes, retirement living or senior living
  • Alternatively, strong multi-bed residential experience such as apartments, BTR, PBSA, hotels or similar development-led projects
  • Strong pre and post-contract experience
  • The ability to manage projects and clients independently
  • Good commercial awareness and a client-facing approach
  • MRICS would be advantageous but is not essential

Sector knowledge is important, but the business is equally interested in someone with the right multi-bed development experience and commercial mindset who can transfer their skills into the care and retirement market.

Package

£55,000 – £70,000 basic salary, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package.

Importantly, there is also a 10% new business bonus, providing genuine financial reward for individuals who use their network and relationships to introduce and develop new opportunities.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing independent consultancy rather than simply become another person within a large corporate structure.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the senior leadership team, take ownership of projects and clients, and play a visible role in the continued growth of the business. xwzovoh

For someone looking for greater autonomy, client exposure and the opportunity to be commercially rewarded for helping grow a consultancy, this represents an excellent next step.
