Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: City of London / Hybrid Sector: Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Working Pattern: Minimum 3 days per week in the office, with project/client site attendance as required An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing London-based consultancy delivering commercial and contractual services across major UK infrastructure and civil engineering projects. Working alongside leading contractors, infrastructure clients and project teams, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of high-value and complex work packages. This role would suit a commercially astute and proactive Senior QS who is confident working independently, managing key stakeholders and providing strong commercial and contractual advice throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities * Commercial management of major civil engineering and infrastructure work packages * Cost management, forecasting, valuations and financial reporting * Administration of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts * Management of compensation events, variations and contractual change * Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities * Change control and commercial governance * Working closely with clients, contractors and wider project teams * Providing commercial and contractual advice to key stakeholders * Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team Experience Required * 7+ years' Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within major civil engineering or infrastructure projects * Strong experience managing high-value and complex commercial packages * Minimum 5 years' experience working with NEC contracts * Previous experience within a main contractor, principal contractor, consultancy or infrastructure organisation * Strong understanding of NEC contract administration, compensation events and change management * Excellent commercial awareness and strategic judgement * Confident client-facing and stakeholder management skills * Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving abilities Qualifications * Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline * Chartered status with RICS, ICES or equivalent would be advantageous * Candidates actively working towards professional accreditation will also be considered Package & Benefits * Competitive salary + London Weighting Allowance * Hybrid working arrangement * Opportunity to work on some of the UK's largest infrastructure and construction programmes * Exposure to high-profile clients and major projects * Genuine career progression within a growing consultancy * Support towards professional development and chartership * Collaborative and supportive working environment * Long-term career development opportunities
