Senior Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Refurbishment Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required. Salary/Package - £60,000 - £68,000 + Excellent Benefits Package Our client is an established construction and refurbishment contractor with a strong presence across the North West. The business specialises in delivering refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement programmes, with significant experience working within the social housing sector. Working closely with housing associations, local authorities, and other public sector clients, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering programmes safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. With continued growth and a healthy pipeline of social housing refurbishment work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of significant social housing refurbishment programmes, working closely with operational teams, clients, and the supply chain. Taking overall commercial responsibility for allocated social housing refurbishment projects Managing project budgets, CVRs, forecasts, and cash flow Leading subcontract procurement and managing subcontractor accounts Preparing and agreeing valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Providing commercial support and guidance to Project and Contracts Managers Managing client relationships and attending commercial/project meetings Monitoring project performance against budget and forecast Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members Providing accurate commercial reporting to senior management Ensuring projects are delivered in line with commercial targets The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have: Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction Strong social housing refurbishment experience Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control, forecasting, and final accounts Experience managing subcontract procurement and accounts Good understanding of construction contracts and contractual procedures Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation ability Experience mentoring or supporting junior commercial staff Strong Excel and general IT skills Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification Excellent benefits package Senior commercial position with genuine responsibility Opportunity to work on major social housing refurbishment programmes Long-term career progression within a growing contractor Opportunity to develop and lead commercial delivery across key client accounts Apply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.
