Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Office-based Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 per annum (depending on experience) The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial roofing contractor. This is a newly created role offering the chance to help establish and develop a new commercial department while working closely with senior management. This position would suit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with extensive roofing experience who is looking to play a key role in the continued growth of the business. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and produce monthly cost reports. * Procure and commercially manage subcontract accounts from tender stage through to final account. * Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts. * Identify, negotiate and agree contract variations with subcontractors and main contractors. * Identify project cost risks at an early stage and implement effective mitigation strategies. * Carry out value engineering exercises to maximise project profitability. * Assist clients in defining project requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. * Monitor and maintain positive contract cash flow. * Prepare turnover and profit forecasts. * Support the estimating and procurement teams where required. * Resolve contractual and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle. * Manage multiple projects independently while maintaining commercial control. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will possess: * Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying. * Minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience within the roofing sector. * Strong understanding of construction contracts and contract law. * Knowledge of insurance and commercial risk management. * Proven ability to independently manage projects from inception through to final account. * Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills. * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. * Experience using Apple Mac systems is advantageous but not essential. * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. * Self-motivated, proactive and capable of working independently. * Ambition to contribute to the continued growth and development of the business.
