The Role As a Senior Childcare Worker, you'll support children and young people with their daily routines while providing guidance and leadership to the staff team on shift.
Working closely with the home's management team, you'll help ensure outstanding standards of care are delivered and that every child receives the individual support they need.
Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people within the home.
Lead and support staff members during shifts, promoting best practice.
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
Promote independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Complete daily records, care plans and risk assessments accurately.
Support children with education, appointments, hobbies and community activities.
Encourage positive behaviour and provide consistent emotional support.
Maintain a safe, caring and welcoming home environment.
Work in partnership with families, social workers and other professionals.
Ensure safeguarding and regulatory standards are met at all times.
About the Home This is a welcoming children's residential home that provides a safe, supportive and family-focused environment for young people with a range of emotional and behavioural needs.
The team is committed to delivering high-quality, therapeutic care that helps children build resilience, develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes.
What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to making a genuine difference.
You will ideally have: Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
Experience supporting or leading a team within a residential setting.
A Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this qualification.
Good knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and children's residential care standards.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A positive, proactive and child-centred approach.
A full UK manual driving licence (essential).
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required.
