Senior Server AdministratorLocation: Southampton, office basedContract: 12 month Fixed Term ContractHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am

Facilitates team discussions and plans and contributes innovative suggestions within area of discipline.Key Duties & Responsibilities;Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmins windows server computing systemsWindows Azure Local Hypervisor deployment and troubleshooting experiencePerforms and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons form small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operationsMeasures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendationsProvides 24x7 on-call support (as part of shared rota)Continuously develop technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems and other server based technologies.Communicate effectively regarding system operations and environment changesAdhere to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictatedUnderstands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems Ensures that all security requirements are met or exceededProvides significant contributions to defining team roadmap and prioritiesDevelops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativityDemonstrates broad understanding of Garmin's business model, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales and MarketingServes as a mentor and provides guidance to less experienced IT Administrators (IT Administrator 1, 2, & 3)Researches new technologies and proposes cost effective solutionsLeads major incident troubleshooting involving multiple disciplinesProvides innovation within area of expertiseFacilitates team discussions and meetingsRecognized as an expert in assigned discipline at Garmin and applies extensive technical expertise and analysis to initiativesContributes input to broader technology solutions outside of disciplineServes as a leader of changeDemonstrates professional maturity through giving xwzovoh and receiving constructive feedbackConflict is addressed effectively without appreciable oversightCoordinates department level non-project changesEducation & Experience;Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to apply learned knowledgeAbility to author and implement basic scripting and coding to automate technical needs such as to move files, backup, create configuration, or other tasksDemonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectivelyDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team settingConsistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
