Senior Structural Engineer Working Location Manchester, UK Hybrid working with a primarily office-based arrangement Contract Type Permanent position Salary Up to £65000 The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering projects across the water sector. This role is ideal for a structurally biased engineer who is confident leading design packages, developing practical engineering solutions and supporting the growth of junior engineers. You will take ownership of structural design delivery across projects, working closely with civil, structural and electrical disciplines to ensure solutions are safe, efficient and fully integrated. Key Responsibilities Producing design deliverables that meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements Preparing structural design calculations, drawings and technical documentation Leading the development of efficient and buildable design solutions Directing and mentoring CAD technicians, junior engineers and graduates Preparing scopes for, and reviewing outputs from, subcontract M&E design teams Liaising with equipment suppliers and manufacturers to support design development Producing design investigations, reports and specifications Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, professional guidance and company procedures Managing and recording design changes within project documentation Estimating design hours and supporting project planning Attending and presenting at design reviews and project meetings About You We are looking for a capable and motivated structural engineer with strong experience in the water sector and a desire to continue developing both technically and professionally. Requirements Essential Around 10 years structural design experience within the water industry Strong experience in hydraulic design Degree or HND in Structural Engineering or a related discipline Good IT and digital design capability Registered with a professional engineering institution and working towards chartership Understanding of multidisciplinary design environments Desirable Chartered Engineer status Experience or awareness of electrical and control systems Experience across clean water and wastewater projects Awareness of construction methods and materials Knowledge of engineering drawing practices Why Join This is a growing engineering consultancy environment where engineers have the opportunity to take ownership of their work, influence project outcomes and develop their careers.
