We are seeking an Experienced & Skilled Sheet Metal Worker/Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be competent in Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Ideally Aluminium MIG & TIG welding for fabricating metal components and assemblies, ensuring precision and quality in all work. The majority of our work is Stainless Steel to a high standard including repolishing after welding.
Duties
Folding and forming Lasered Parts to drawings and instructions
Drilling & tapping of components
Fabricating components using various welding methods, including mig & tig welding, to meet project specifications
Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other materials
Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication to given tolerances
Perform measurements and calculations using fundamental math skills to verify dimensions and tolerances
Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or subassemblies
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met
Some driving will be required on occasion to deliver to customers or collect jobs
Requirements
Proven experience in MIG & TIG welding, with a strong understanding of various welding techniques, good knowledge of pulsed tig welding would be an advantage.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as shears, presses, and grinders
Solid knowledge of sheet metal work and fabrication processes
Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly, fitting, and finishing of metal components
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes
Experience with welding safety procedures and best practices
Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce precise work within tight tolerances
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

A 6 month probationary period will apply.
