Shift Coordinator Location: Kings Norton Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Afternoon Shift) Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Shift Coordinator to join their production team in Kings Norton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated supervisor or team leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, teamwork and continuous improvement are at the heart of the operation. As Shift Coordinator, you will support the Shift Controller with the day-to-day running of the production department, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer requirements are consistently achieved. You will lead and motivate a team of production operatives while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Key Responsibilities -Support the Shift Controller with the daily management of production operations. -Lead, motivate and supervise production operatives to achieve production and quality targets. -Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times. -Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet production plans and customer demand. -Deliver shift briefings and communicate production priorities to the team. -Monitor operator performance, providing coaching, training and support where required. -Ensure production processes and work instructions are followed correctly. -Troubleshoot production issues and escalate maintenance concerns to minimise downtime. -Work closely with colleagues across shifts to ensure effective communication and smooth handovers. -Investigate quality concerns and support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. -Assist with employee training, performance reviews and development. -Provide cover for the Shift Controller during periods of absence. The successful candidate will have: -Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. -Ideally a minimum of three years' manufacturing experience, with paint, automotive or similar production experience advantageous. -Strong leadership and people management skills. -Excellent communication and organisational abilities. -A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. -The ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. -GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). -A full UK driving licence
