Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Mechanical Bias | Manufacturing | Permanent Salary: £46,600 per annum, Weekly Pay Shift: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts - PM (6pm-6am) Contract: Permanent, full time Synergi are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. This is a permanent role within a busy engineering team, working across a broad mix of production plant and site services. This is a permanent nights position - 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6am. The shift is fixed, so there is no rotation onto days and no constantly resetting your sleep. The site runs a fast-paced operation to strict quality and hygiene standards, so uptime matters. You will be trusted to make your own calls on breakdowns and to bring ideas forward on how the plant can run better - this is not a role where you simply wait for the next job to land. The position is mechanically biased with welding and fabrication skills highly valued. Electrical capability is not essential, but any electrical fault-finding experience will be a genuine advantage. Delivering planned preventative maintenance to keep plant running at optimum efficiency Providing emergency breakdown cover across all production plant and site services Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs as required Recording machine history, PPM records and handover information on the site maintenance management system Identifying and reporting problem areas across plant and services before they become failures Contributing improvement and cost-reduction ideas for the plant and the wider engineering department Working to Health & Safety, quality and hygiene standards at all times, and maintaining strong housekeeping across the factory and workshops A time-served or formally qualified engineer with a mechanical bias Welding and fabrication skills - strongly preferred Experience of PPM and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment Comfortable working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour nights shift pattern, 6pm to 6am Comfortable using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) Electrical fault-finding experience - desirable, not essential A team player with strong attention to detail, who communicates well across the wider factory team 46,600 per annum, paid weekly Permanent position with a stable, established manufacturer Nights only shift pattern - fixed, with no rotation onto days 4 on 4 off shift pattern - excellent work/life balance with blocks of time off Real autonomy on shift - you will be trusted to make the call Ongoing training and development within the engineering team Synergi work with manufacturing, food, FMCG and heavy industrial clients across East Anglia and the wider UK, on permanent, contract and interim engineering roles - so please do send your CV across and we will keep you in mind for opportunities better suited to your background.
