Shift Engineer Circa £50,000 Continental Shift Pattern (7am – 7pm, 7pm – 7am) Wrexham We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Wrexham. Operating within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring production equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and working as part of a collaborative shift team. Day-to-Day Responsibilities - Shift Engineer Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime Support production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimal efficiency Complete preventative maintenance tasks in line with site schedules Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards Accurately record maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Assist with equipment improvements, breakdown root cause analysis, and minor project work Work effectively on a continental shift pattern, handing over clearly between shifts Qualifications & Experience - Shift Engineer Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (or equivalent) Proven experience working within a manufacturing environment (food, FMCG, or similar highly regulated sector preferred) Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems A proactive, team-focused approach with good communication skills Ability to work calmly under pressure and make sound engineering decisions Benefits - Shift Engineer Competitive salary circa £50,000 Continental shift pattern offering extended rest periods Company pension scheme Paid annual leave Overtime opportunities (x1.5) Training and development opportunities For more information on this role, please contact Andy Haddon on (phone number removed), or send a copy of your CV to (url removed) For details of other opportunities available within your chosen field, please visit  Omega is an employment agency specialising in opportunities at all levels within the Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Defence, Scientific, Energy & Renewables and Tech sectors.
