Site Engineer – HS2 (Major Earthworks Contractor) Location: Aylesbury Package: Excellent salary + uplift + accommodation/travel support + benefits The Role You will support large‑scale earthworks delivery on HS2, including bulk excavation, haul roads, drainage, structures, and temporary works. This is a hands‑on engineering role with strong progression opportunities. Key Responsibilities * Setting‑out for earthworks, drainage, utilities, and structures * Daily QA checks, ITPs, as‑built records, and technical documentation * Supporting Section Engineers/Sub Agents with planning and coordination * Working closely with survey teams and GPS machine control systems * Ensuring compliance with HS2 specifications, environmental controls, and safety standards * Contributing to progress reporting and short‑term planning Requirements * Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or similar * Experience in earthworks, highways, or heavy civils * Strong understanding of digital engineering and GPS equipment * Ability to work across multiple work fronts in a fast‑paced environment * Strong communication and organisational skills Benefits * Major project experience * Long‑term pipeline of work * Accommodation/travel package available * Clear progression to Project Engineer
